Nicole has street-smarts and is strong-willed, exactly what I like to discover in a leading character. We’d already submitted a forensic accountant’s report that showed Blair used his tax-paid wages to invest from the time he began working.As a single woman, there is always the opportunity for romance and I was pleased the author left that opportunity open for Nicole, in the future. The plot and development of this book was clearly well thought out and took the reader on a number of twists and turns that placed various of the main characters in serious danger at times, which allowed the reader to root for the characters. Nicole is shocked to learn that the police have decided Jerry's death was murder and even more shocked that she's their only suspect when there's no shortage of people with motives. Nicole Graves finds herself in the crosshairs when she reluctantly agrees to babysit a witness in a high-profile rape trial. Nor did they look for missing persons, except for the rare occasions when an important client’s minor child ran away.
