Description

If there’s one little thing that can put some people off buying any Raspberry Pi, it’s that you need to add a keyboard, power, mouse and, preferably a case, to get started. Enter the Raspberry Pi 400: the complete all-in-one computer built into a keyboard.

The familiar 40-pin GPIO pins are located at the rear of the keyboard for wiring up electronics projects, alongside two USB 3.0 ports and a USB 2.0 port. There's even an on/off power option via the F10 key (for full power disconnection, grab a USB-C on/off switch cable). Raspberry Pi 400 is a complete Raspberry Pi 4-based personal computer, fully integrated into a keyboard for ease of setup and use. Don’t be deceived by the size of Raspberry Pi 400, this computer delivers outstanding development performance, the world of programming has never been so easy-to-use! All you have to do is plug and play any peripherals you desire.

The table below shows the keyboard layout and power supply included in each regional variant of the kit: If you need a micro-HDMI adapter to use your existing HDMI cable with the Raspberry Pi 400 then we've got you covered! Bluetooth 5.0 and wireless LAN The Raspberry Pi 400 Personal Computer Kit is the “Christmas morning” product, with the best possible out-of-box experience: a complete PC which plugs into your TV or monitor. The kit comprises:

Raspberry Pi 400 is the perfect educational tool for students of all ages. Low-cost and portable, it is ideal for home study, and for teaching computing concepts like programming, physical computing, and networking. The Raspberry Pi 400 has two USB 3.0 ports, for up to 10x faster transfer speeds than USB 2.0, perfect for connecting fast peripherals like SSDs and flash drives. There is also one USB 2.0 ports ideal for connecting less speed-dependent peripherals like a mouse. With an even faster 1.8GHz 64-bit quad-core CPU (thanks to the substantial heatsink inside), coupled with the 4GB of RAM give performance comparable to entry-level x86 desktop PCs. You'll see significantly faster boot speeds, and much better performance for CPU-heavy tasks like emulation and media centre usage; much snappier all round! At launch, we are supporting English (UK and US), French, Italian, German, and Spanish keyboard layouts, with (for the first time) translated versions of the Beginner’s Guide. In the near future, we plan to support the same set of languages as our official keyboard. Buy the computer

The Raspberry Pi 400 kit is an incredible option for value for money. You get the Pi 400 computer as well as all the items you need to get started straight out of the box, you only need a monitor. So you don’t have to search to find everything individually. Zero Hassle. Revolutionary Raspberry PiAs with the Pi 4, the 400 has a quad-core Broadcom BCM2711 SoC. Running at 1.8GHz (300MHz faster than the same chip used in the Pi 4), the SoC uses ARM v8 Cortex-A72 cores. There’s 4GB of RAM, too. We keep saying it… because it’s amazing. Raspberry Pi 400 is a fully integrated personal computer inside a keyboard – just plug in and play! It also means you don’t have to waste any space with a clunky desktop PC. Revolutionary Raspberry Pi But user friendliness is about more than performance: it can also be about form factor. In particular, having fewer objects on your desk makes for a simpler set-up experience. Classic home computers – BBC Micros, ZX Spectrums, Commodore Amigas, and the rest – integrated the motherboard directly into the keyboard. No separate system unit and case; no keyboard cable. Just a computer, a power supply, a monitor cable, and (sometimes) a mouse. Raspberry Pi 400 Though I missed out on a university education and am not a computer or software engineer I’ve had an interest in computing for a long long time (anyone remember Byte magazine and Jerry Pournelle’s Chaos Manor?).

If you want to browse the web, write documents or stream some video, this computer can handle it all. Really, this computer is fast enough for most jobs. To an extent, it makes it easier to develop on this device, too, as it’s fast enough to keep up with what you want to do, with no annoying lag. Should I buy the Raspberry Pi 400? We were impressed by last year’s Raspberry Pi 4, which is still available. The company has recently consolidated the success of the most powerful Pi to date with its Compute Module 4 for server clusters and embedded systems, and now it’s bringing out this dedicated desktop PC, powered by a variant of the Pi 4. What’s in the box? An awesome computer kit that is built within a keyboard from Raspberry Pi based on the popular Raspberry Pi 4. The kit includes a Raspberry Pi 400, power supply, HDMI cable, preloaded microSD card with Raspberry Pi OS, mouse and Beginner guide. You just need to add a monitor! Details

The Raspberry Pi 400 uses a USB-C power meaning that you'll need a new USB-C power supply that can supply 5V at 3A. Internally, the Pi 400 is basically an upgraded Raspberry Pi Model 4 computer. Rather than squeezing that board into a keyboard case, this computer has been built from scratch to be an all-in-one. For starters, that means that all of the ports are lined up at the rear of the computer, rather than being spread around the side. The Raspberry Pi 400 comes equipped with a wireless LAN adaptor which will enable any one of you to take your Raspberry Pi device away with you anywhere! Raspberry Pi computers have never been so portable and accessible! For those of you at home, a wireless connection isn’t necessary as it, also a Gigabit Ethernet port. Versatile and Affordable You can switch video drivers to get the most out of the VideoCore VI GPU. Enabling the GL (Fake KMS) desktop driver using the raspi-config tool in Raspberry Pi OS improved performance in the HardInfo GPU Drawing benchmark improved from 1523 to 1602. Raspberry Pi OS
