Description

The Inissia was originally Nespresso’s entry-level machine, presenting customers with a straightforward way to brew espresso. However, it was recently discontinued. While still widely available and covered by Nespresso’s one-year manufacturer’s warranty, the Inissia is gradually being replaced by the Essenza Mini. We’ll be reviewing the Essenza Mini on its own and comparing it to the Inissia later on in this article. While the shape of the Inissia isn’t the most exciting, one aspect that can’t be faulted is its worktop footprint. It’s tiny when compared to similarly priced machines and at just 12cm wide, there’s no kitchen that would be too small for it to squeeze into. As with most Nespresso machines, the Inissia produces espresso with a rich, full crema that hints at the taste awaiting you. You won’t be disappointed in that taste, either. It is recommended to empty the bin when it's full or at least once a day, and to clean it regularly.

Your machine has now been restored to approximately 1.35 oz. for the espresso cup and 3.75 oz. for the lungo cup These machines have many similarities because they serve the same audience: espresso-loving coffee drinkers searching for an affordable, user-friendly machine using the Nespresso brewing system. While both focus on speed and convenience, there are a few important differences. The water reservoir holds 24 ounces, enough for a few cups before you have to refill the machine. An interior tray holds up to 11 spent capsules before needing to be emptied. A lidded drip-tray contains mess during day-to-day operations, and the machine politely shuts itself off after nine minutes of disuse.

If you don’t mind a more industrial look and don’t care about the color of your machine as much as you do about how premium and expensive it looks, then the Pixie will suit your needs better. With paper-based capsules, sometimes a few drops of water leak into the cup at the beginning of brewing.

If you don’t mind a lower quality machine and care only about the quality of coffee it makes, the Inissia is probably the best choice for you. However, if you prefer a durable, sturdy, and hefty machine that looks and feels to be of high quality, the Pixie will suit you better. What Price Point Are You Comfortable With? If your appliance has not been used for several months, the pump may have difficulty restarting the water flow.

The Inissia might have a limited drinks menu, but the coffee it produces is just as good as from other Nespresso machines. It boasts the same maximum 19-bar pressure for its crema, and combined with warm frothy milk from the Aeroccino3, drinks can be tailored to suit. The Inissia is available in a few different colours; blue, white and red. It has a rapid heat up time of just 25 seconds which will help keep your mornings efficient. It also switches off automatically after a period of inactivity. This coffee machine can brew one cup at a time. The water tank has a capacity of 0.7 L which is sufficient for up to 2 or 3 cups of coffee. Features such as a water level indicator, status light and automatic capsule ejection make the Krups Nespresso Inissia a user-friendly model all round. More from Krups Many busy people worldwide love being able to prepare just one cup of fresh coffee with the touch of a button. Capsule coffee machines make this process easy and convenient, and in our opinion, Nespresso makes the best machines. Because of the vast difference in the quality of materials, these machines are priced very differently, even though they make the same quality coffee. By doing so, you pre-heat your coffee cup and you rinse the extraction system for better coffee experience.

There’s a huge clamping handle that surrounds the body of the machine. Lift this handle up and the capsule caddy opens. Drop the capsule in and clamp the handle down and you’re ready to go. Then simply decide whether you want a short or long shot. Take out and reposition the tank every 3 seconds. There should be air bubbles escaping from the tank valve. Nespresso has also upgraded the internal functions of the Essenza Mini. Newer technology in the pump reduces noise and energy consumption, making the Essenza Mini a good housemate even in a limited space. Paper capsules do not interact with the machine in the same way as aluminum capsules. It takes slightly longer for the machine to pierce the paper capsule, and sometimes a very small amount of water may flow around the capsule and into the cup. A few water drops should not affect the taste or aroma of your coffee. What should I do if my appliance is not working? The Pixie is almost identical in function and capability to the Inissia, but the major difference is in the quality of materials used in construction. The Pixie is a higher-end, more premium model made with durable, long-lasting materials, including stainless steel. The Pixie is likely to last longer than the cheaper Inissia model, given this disparity in quality. We recommend using the paper capsules within 4 weeks after opening the sachet, keeping them in their sachet by closing it with a clip and storing the sachet in a dry, cool place, sheltered from light. Place your preferred cup under the spout, then press and hold the cup button you would like to program. Water will begin to flow. For owners of machines with steam arms (C190, D150, D250, D290, D300, Romeo), please activate the steam/hot water function. Scale deposits naturally form in your coffee maker. Regular descaling helps protect your coffee maker and ensures it a longer life. It will also help maintain a quality of coffee that remains constant over time. What is the best way to descale or clean my espresso machine?
