Description

When treating carpet moths, it is always recommended to use a combination of insecticides to ensure full eradication is achieved. Rentokil Insect Killer Foggers are insecticidal foggers to kill flies, fleas, moths and other flying and crawling insects in the home. They only smoulder for approximately 30 seconds to provide sufficient smoke for the task at hand and will not leave an odour in your room or a residue of any on your furnishings. As there is no long-lasting effect once the smoke has dispersed, we recommend use alongside residual insecticides such as Pest Expert Formula 'C+' Clothes Moth Spray. Generally, dry cleaning a suit once a year is pretty good, so if you only do it that time, before putting it away for storage, then there won’t be much long term damage in the long term from the cleaning.

The unique combination of actives make Formula C+ the most powerful and effective moth spray available to the amateur market and the perfect product for quick and effective eradication of any level of moth infestation. THE SPRAY WAS VERY EFFECTIVE AND JOINTLY WITH THE HOOVERING OF DEAD CASES I HOPE IT HAS CLEARED EVERYTHING UP. I would probably carry on with your method until you see any kind of risk, such as moths flying about, or the tiniest hole in something (a small hole can often be fixed with invisible mending) and only then consider something more serious. If moths lay their eggs in a piece of clothing, but then I start wearing it every other day, will this damage the eggs?

The turning point for me came last year, when I started regularly fumigating my cupboards and the attic. Unlike the many moths that are in decline, these moths – the webbing (or common) clothes moth and the case-bearing clothes moth – are believed to be increasing in numbers.

It has the advantage of not having to be lit, but you have to press the top and then turn to secure it, which is not easy to do while smoke is escaping all around you. I decided to take a slightly different approach, and since I found Simon’s post so valuable, I wanted to share why. Also interestingly, the only not clean wool thing i had over summer was wax walker liner, but moths ate unworn and washed knitwear. We recommend that insecticidal smoke is only used to complement other treatment methods such as powders and sprays. Fumers are an integral part of any moth treatment as it helps to penetrate cracks and crevices where moth larvae and eggs are harbouring. But I don’t know anything about the role of UV, or how long that sunlight has to be on the clothes to make any difference.
